Joining Sound Off

I joined the Board of Directors for Sound Off, a non-profit (paperwork pending) I've mentioned before. I love that Sound Off works to increase the access marginalized people in tech have to professional opportunities. It's a natural fit for my interests and something I'm just as passionate about.

Sound Off's second campaign is happening now. We're fundraising to provide live captioning for UIKonf, "an independent conference in Berlin, Germany focusing on iOS development. Live captioning for UIKonf is not only going to open up the conference to the deaf community and the hard of hearing, but will be indispensable for many of the attendees for whom English is not their first language."

UIKonf takes place this year from May 22nd to May 25th, and I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be speaking at the conference. I've never been to Germany before, so tips are appreciated. If you're in town, come say hi!
